Morning of-
Those driving in Sunday Morning-Recommended to leave Marlboro for Hyannis no later than 630am, not accounting for weather. That gives you about 2 hrs, 830 arrival to Hyannis, not the hotel.
Once in Hyannis, avoid downtown if possible, go to Conference Center the back way via Pitcher’s Way, off of Route 132 from Rt6, exit 6…for reference if you use any internet map, like Google Maps, just get directions from Comfort Inn Rt 132 Hyannis to Conference Center 35 Scudder Way Hyannis that should give a good visual. Pitcher's Way is one of two side roads that bears right off of Rt 132.
Parking - Once at the destination, either the Melody Tent or hotel, you will need to park, more than likely at the Melody Tent. Around 830, it will be a mad house, 9am arrival near insane, hence reason why 630 departure from Marlboro is suggested. But if you get to Hyannis early enough, you might luck out with parking at the conference center itself, where I would call the east end of the parking lot nearest edge to the rotary and package store, also happens to be the furthest corner away from the race start.
Bib Pick Up/Forum- for those of you picking up for others on Saturday, keep it straight as to whose bag is whose, not sure if name will be on bag itself sometimes it is, sometimes just their bib#. Bring a Sharpie or some other bold writing device to determine easily.
Sunday pick up, yes it can be done, the pick up is in the west wing of the center, near the pool, fitness center for those familiar with the center.
If so inclined the Race Forum has great bargains to be had- shoes, clothes and gadgets. Credit pays, cash talks.
Central Meeting- I will circulate the room number, I think we will use a party line, I will text or call two people and they will call and text two people and so on, but if you wish me to text the room to you directly, text me at 6177192421, and please state your name, as much as I love guess this phone number I suck at it. Hell I have problems with just names.
Gear Storage, and the like- yes you can store your gear in the room, and you can change and use the facilities pre and post. I will arrange for extra towels, extra room keys and all that stuff. I am told I am foolish to be such a trusting fool, but the decision of valuables, your rationale, not my problem. If everyone uses a brown paper bag to tote your stuff then there will be confusion. Every year someone ends up missing an article of their favorite clothing, yes even before the race – what happens in Hyannis is only known if posted in the results…
With all this said – you need to also get ready to run. For those toeing the line for the 10am I am talking to you!! All you running the relay legs 2, 3,4 we will talk later.
Race details-
10 am start, plan for the weather to be unpredictable.
For those of you finishing your relay leg at Craigsville Beach, be prepared to have a change of clothes ready to go in the stage vehicle. Not just a dry shirt, a coat, gloves hat. It is the Cape, it is the winter, and yes it will be cold.
ALSO post run water, snack what ever you prefer !!
