Races Overview

The Highland City Striders put on a series of community races that are designed to support the local community and charity organizations.

Running with the Wolves 5k/10k

Our premier race every year is Running with the Wolves 5k/10k. Each year we raise money to support local charity organizations.

The 10 Milers

We also have two infamous “Tough 10” races. The 10 miler races are held the same course, held on Labor Day and the Sunday after Thanksgiving. These two races are renowned for their low-key nature – entry fee is just 15 canned goods that are donated to local food pantries, and their “tough” course. You’ll be running along at PR pace until you get to the hill that is all of mile 8.

The 5 Milers

On the same days and at the same time (Labor Day and the Sunday after Thanksgiving) as the infamous “Tough 10” races, the 5 mile races are shorter versions of their 10 mile siblings but the hills are not as challenging. As with the 10 milers, these two races are renowned for their low-key nature – entry fee is just 15 canned goods that are donated to local food pantries.

Eschelbacher Trail Run/Walk

Each year we host a trail run or walk at Gates Pond in the name of one of our former members – Jeremy Eschelbacher – who tragically passed away in 2016. Jeremy was a great runner, father and physics teacher at Grafton High School and donations of this run/walk go to fund scholarships to Grafton High School students.
